The Baucher is most often u sed in the show jumping and dr essage phases of eventing. The reins attach to the eggbutt-l ike ring at the mouthpiece, wh ile the bridle cheeks attach t o the smaller ring. This keeps the bit flat against the hors e's face and firmly in the mou th. Pressure is concentrated o n the bars, along with some sl ight poll pressure.

The double-jointed mouthpiece hel ps reduce palate and bar press ure.

The mouthpiece is made from soft, non-toxic plas tic with a pleasant apple scen t. Copper sockets are embedded in the mouthpiece holes, effe ctively boosting wear resistan ce and significantly extending service life. All rings/cheek s are constructed from stainle ss steel for reliable durabili ty during regular use.
